Four persons, include three policemen, were on Saturday injured when locals attacked a police team at Sikohbigha village in Bihar's Naxal-hit Gaya district, police said.
The locals attacked the team which had gone there to measure a piece of land on the directives of the Patna High Court, they said. People from Mahadalit communities had captured the land of former Mukhiya Arvind Singh and erected several huts on it.
Hearing a case filed by Singh, the high court had asked the district administration to immediately measure the land. Subsequently, Sub-divisional Officer (SDO) Sanjay Sharma, Circle Officer (CO) Amit Kumar and Atri Station House Officer (SHO) reached there to implement the orders.
Opposing their arrival, the people who had erected huts on the land, started pelting stones. ASP Ashok Kumar Singh told reporters that the situation was under control and the injured persons have been admitted to Gaya Sadar Hospital for treatment.
