Shubo Das from Chinsurah, West Bengal, returned home after completing the round trip from his hometown to Kedarnath on the bicycle. He covered 1,566 km in 26 days. He visited Baba Kedarnath and other places on a bicycle. The 22-year-old started his journey by taking Ganga water from Chinsurah.
After completing the journey, Shubo Das took water from Gaurikand and worshipped at Sandeshwar Temple at Sandeswartala in Chinsurah. Being a lord Shiva devotee, Shubo Das first went to Tarakeshwar with his friends to pour water on Shiva’s head. It is reportedly at this moment that Shubo Das decided to visit Kedarnath and pour water on Shiva’s head.
Finally, on April 14, he left for Kedarnath with a bicycle. The journey was not easy for him. Sometimes he had to spend his nights on the streets if no one allowed him to stay at their homes. Shubo Das never learned to give up. His devotion helped him reach the Kedarnath temple despite the odds.
Shubo Das owns a small cart shop. The condition of his house is not in a good state. He started his shop two years ago with the help of a loan. He sells tea, biscuits and chips in a small cart shop next to the Sandeshwar Temple and saved money for his trip to Kedarnath.
On May 9, he reached the Kedarnath temple after 26 days of his cycle journey. He returned home after worshipping there a few days ago. After returning home, he returned to his work. Shubo Das claims that it is not the end of his journey. He added that if god permits then he will commence on a new journey soon.
