In a shocking incident, a 15-year-old girl was gangraped at gunpoint in front of her parents by three men in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior district. The incident took place in the Bhanwarpur area on Monday night, however, a complaint was filed two days later on Wednesday.
Out of the three suspects, one has been detained by the police, news agency PTI was quoted as saying by Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rishikesh Meena.
“An incident occurred with a minor girl and her family in a village under Bhanwarpur police station limits in the district on Monday night in which the minor was gang raped and her parents were assaulted,” another top police official was quoted as saying.
The girl’s family had moved into the locality only a month ago.
On the basis of the complaint filed by the victim’s parents, the police have registered a case against the three accused under sections 323, 376, 376d, 458, 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act.
The Police have launched a probe in the matter.
In a similar incident, a 10-year-old girl, who lives in an orphanage, was allegedly raped in Odisha’s Cuttack while she was returning from school, police said on Wednesday. The incident happened in the College Square area near the Cuttack railway station on Monday afternoon.
She is at present undergoing treatment at the SCB Medical College and Hospital, Railway SP Biranchi Prasad Dehury. She has been living in the orphanage after the death of her mother as her father is in jail.
