How to Get Christmas Presents All Year Round in Terraria: 2 Methods
Are you looking to get presents in Terraria without it being Christmas? There are two pretty simple ways to achieve this—you can unlock one-day access to all Christmas effects by completing the Frost Moon event, or you can adjust your device's system time to make the game think you're playing during Christmas.
Things You Should Know
  • Use a Naughty Present at night to trigger the Frost Moon event and complete it before dawn.
  • You'll need to reach wave 15 or 20 (depending on your game version) to get Christmas effects for one in-game day.
  • If you don't want to do Frost Moon, you can adjust your device's system time.

Reach Frost Moon Wave 15

Use a Naughty Present at any time during the night. This will begin the Frost Moon event, which is Christmas-themed, and if you complete it before 4:30 a.m. the next in-game day, you will have access to the Christmas season in-game for one in-game day. Frost Moon is available in Hardmode after you defeat Plantera. Naughty Presents can be crafted from 20 Silk, 5 Ectoplasm, and 5 Soul of Fright at a Mythril or Orichalcum Anvil.

Complete the Frost Moon event. Depending on the version of the game you're playing, you must complete either 15 (PC, console, mobile, and tModLoader versions) or 20 (all other versions) waves. At 4:30 a.m., if you've completed enough waves, you will see a status message that reads "The spirit of Christmas spreads cheer…" You must complete these waves before 4:30 a.m., as that is when the event will end.

Defeat enemies to get presents. Presents have a 1/13 chance of dropping when you defeat an enemy during Christmas. Two methods of doing this are defeating the Ender or Worlds many times or completing the Solar Eclipse event as it spawns a lot of enemies. The Christmas season will go away at 4:30 a.m. the next day, but you can repeat Frost Moon to get another day of Christmas in your game.

Change System Date

Alter your device's date to any date between December 15th and December 31st. The Christmas season occurs in December and into January, depending on the version of the game you're playing, but all versions will have Christmas during these dates. Change your computer's date in the system settings. The steps vary based on your operating system, though you can read this wikiHow for steps for Windows. If you don't want to actually change the date, you can launch Terraria with the application RunAsDate on Windows or faketime on macOS or Linux. On Xbox or Playstation, launch the game, then disconnect from Xbox Live or PSN. After doing so, you can change the date on your console in the system settings. On Android or iPhone, disable your phone from automatically setting the date and time, then change the date to the appropriate one. On 3DS, change the date in the device's system settings.

Open the game. Once you're in a game with the date changed, the game will think it's the Christmas season, and all Christmas-related effects will be active.

Defeat enemies to get presents. Presents have a 1/13 chance of dropping when you defeat an enemy during Christmas. Two methods of doing this are to defeat the Ender or Worlds many times, or completing the Solar Eclipse event as it spawns a lot of enemies.
