India women's hockey team loses to Japan in practice match

Antwerp: The Indian women's hockey team lost to Japan 0-2 in their first practice match ahead of the Hockey World League semi-final on Monday.

Japan scored their goals in the first and second quarter and kept the ball in their possession for most of the match.

India will play their second practice match against Italy on Monday.

Hockey World League will run from June 20 to July 5.

India will face the host nation Belgium on day one of the tournament.
