Eden Hazard could not stop laughing after the Chelsea legend was asked about Tottenham Hotspur’s chance of winning the Premier League title. Hazard, in his prime, spent as many as seven years with the Blues. He left the Premier League in July 2019, agreeing to move to Real Madrid. The Belgian international stayed in Spain during the twilight phase of his career before taking retirement in October last year.
Hazard was featured in a recent episode of The Obi One Podcast, hosted by former Chelsea midfielder John Obi-Mikel, where he shared his view on the current situation of English clubs including Chelsea. The London-based club, which has six Premier League titles in its cabinet, has struggled to match the stature in recent times.
The scenario is quite the same this season. Chelsea are reeling at the tenth place in the Premier League standings, having managed only 10 victories in 25 matches.
After Eden Hazard was asked to name the teams better than Chelsea in the Premier League, he said, “The Premier League is so hard and you see now Man City they are better than Chelsea, you see Liverpool they are better than Chelsea.” That’s when the ex-Real Madrid forward was interrupted by Jon Obi-Mikel, who dragged Tottenham Hotspur into the discussion.
⚪️ “TOTTENHAM… NO!” ????You can take the boy out of @ChelseaFC but not Chelsea out of the boy. Brilliant from @hazardeden10.

The reference left Hazard in splits as he immediately replied, “No, no, Tottenham, no. Yes, they play good football but you know, as a Chelsea legend, you can’t say that.” John Obi-Mikel reminded Hazard of their London rivals’ form in the ongoing season. He said, “But right now they are playing a bit better, they are like third or fourth in the league.
With Ange Postecoglou at the helm, Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as one of the top contenders for the Premier League title this season. They are now fifth in the standings with 47 points on the card. Aston Villa overtook them in the points table after Spurs endured a disappointing 2-1 defeat at the hands of Wolves last Saturday.
Chelsea, on the other hand, have yet to showcase consistency this season. They were, however, able to secure a dominant 4-1 away win over their rivals Tottenham
