Real Madrid confirm Sneijder has joined Inter
Wesley Sneijder's transfer to Inter Milan has gone through.

New Delhi: Real Madrid have announced that they have sold Wesley Sneijder to Inter as they continue their summer rebuilding programme by off-loading another unwanted star.

The Dutch midfielder was told that he was surplus to requirements at the Santiago Bernabeu just one season after joining the club from Ajax and it was no secret that a switch to the San Siro was imminent.

With a fee believed to be in the region of €15million, Sneijder's switch to Inter has been confirmed with Real Madrid posting a brief message on their official website.

"Real Madrid C.F. and F.C. Inter Milan have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Wesley Sneijder to the Italian club," the statement read.

After a huge spending spree to bolster Manuel Pellegrini's squad, Madrid were left with the task of reducing their numbers with only 25 players able to be registered to play in la Primera.

Despite the coach hinting that he saw Sneijder as a player he could work with, the club were keen to recoup some of their outlay by selling the stars that may not be regulars.

The Dutch international was reluctant to leave the club after only one season and revealed how hard he was going to find the switch.

"I'm going with my head high. I'm going to a great team, there's no doubt about that. I've been very happy here but now I have to look ahead and focus on my new team," he was quoted as saying by Marca.
