New Delhi: AC Milan coach Leonardo is raring to sit on his first Serie A bench as his side take on Siena on Saturday evening in a game they already must win in order to prove that their poor pre-season was not something to worry about.
Leonardo wants the team to play fully concentrated, as they did against Juventus in the Berlusconi Cup, in order to win the three points and so kick-off the season in the best possible way.
"The first matchday is upon us," declared the new Rossoneri coach to Milan Channel. "At this point we are all at zero points and we start off on the same level."
"Tomorrow's game is one we face fully concentrated. We must play like in the Berlusconi Trophy, playing with the same attention and concentration. It was an important month of work, I think that the team is ready. Starting out well is always fundamental. I don't think that it is decisive to win or lose, but I think that the team is able to start off well. We have reacted well to the difficulties and the proof was Milan-Juve at San Siro."
As a player, Leonardo played a total of 97 Serie A matches for Milan during his five seasons at the club, scoring a total of 22 goals.
