Germany midfielder Mesut Ozil travelled to Munich on Wednesday to undergo a scan on his left knee, leaving his participation in their euro 2016 qualifier against Poland in Warsaw on Saturday in doubt.
Ozil, who played the full 90 minutes in Arsenal's 2-0 defeat to Chelsea on Sunday, could be the latest big name absence from coach Joachim Loew's squad with Bastian Schweinsteiger and Marco Reus also among those absent.
"There is some problem with the left knee. We cannot say more at this moment. We will have to see how it goes," said team spokesman Jens Grittner on Wednesday.
"If there are any further personnel developments during the day we will let you know."
There was some good news for Loew, however, with Julian Draxler expected to join up with the team later on Wednesday after overcoming the flu.
"He is expect to arrive this afternoon," Grittner said.
The Germans also play Ireland next week.
