New Delhi: Even as Manchester United celebrate their ninth Premiership title, their Asian tour has run into trouble with the AFC President taking strong exception to it, because it coincides with the Asia Cup.
"What I'm not accepting this tour to take place in the off-season of the European league and especially during the organisation of the Asian Cup," AFC President Mohammed Bin Hammam said on Tuesday.
Even FIFA President Sepp Blatter has stepped in to ask United to postpone their tour.
"It should also be respected by clubs touring exactly in the same region where this competition is played. We personally appeal to the clubs," Blatter added.
