New Delhi: India have slipped no further than their 157th spot in the FIFA world rankings because of no action on the international football circuit.

India started the year on 90 points.

Malaysia, who shared the 157th position with India earlier, however, have slipped further five places.

India's Asian rankings hasn't also been affected, remaining on number 32. Iran lead the continental rankings while Australia (39), Uzbekistan (45), Japan (46) and South Korea (51) follow.

Sri Lanka (145) and Bangladesh (151) are ahead of India in the world charts, indicating a steady fall of fortunes. But with Pakistan, Nepal and Maldives lying below the Indian team, there may be something to cheer for.

India's next challenge at the international level would be qualifiers for the Olympics in Beijing in 2008. India face Myanmar on the home-and-away format.

At the top of the ranking table, Brazil maintain their number one position, followed by World Cup winners Italy on No 2. Argentina and France follow in at three and four respectively.

World Cup semi-finallists Germany moved up one place to capture the fifth spot, toppling England who previously held the position.
