The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta will commence the application process for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024. The application process will end on September 13. Interested and eligible candidates can register for the exam on the official website at iimcat.ac.in.
As per the official notification, the CAT 2024 is scheduled to take place on November 24 in three sessions in the computer-based exam mode. Test centres located across 170 cities will host the exam. IIM Calcutta will release the admit cards on November 5 and the results will be made public around the second week of January 2025.
CAT 2024: Educational Qualification
Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50 per cent of the possible points, or a comparable CGPA. Candidates from Scheduled Tribe (ST), Scheduled Caste (SC), and Persons with Disability (PwD) groups must meet a minimum of 45 per cent of the requirements.
CAT 2024: How to Apply?
Step 1. Visit the official webpage of IIM CAT at iimcat.ac.in.
Step 2. Click on the “New Candidate Registration”.
Step 3. Enter the necessary details to register.
Step 4. Fill out the form.
Step 5. Upload the required copies and pay the application fee.
Step 6. Download the application confirmation page for future use.
CAT 2024: Application Fee
To finish the registration process, candidates must pay the CAT 2024 application cost. For candidates in the general category who fall under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), the application fee is Rs 2,500. On the other hand, candidates who fall under the categories of Person with Disabilities (PwD), Scheduled Caste, or Scheduled Tribe must pay the Rs 1,250 registration fee for CAT 2024.
CAT 2024: Exam Pattern
According to previous patterns, the CAT 2024 exam will be administered in three shifts, the first from 8:30 am to 10:30 am, the second from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, and the third from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. The CAT 2024 exam will consist of three parts including, quantitative aptitude (QA), data interpretation and logical reasoning (DILR), and verbal ability and reading comprehension (VARC). The CAT 2024 paper will consist of 66 questions in total. Candidates will receive three marks for each right response and one mark will be subtracted for each incorrect response under the CAT 2024 grading methodology. Negative points won’t be deducted for wrong responses.
