What A Knock My Boy: Suryakumar Yadav Celebrates Musheer Khan’s Century On Duleep Trophy Debut
Musheer Khan scored 105 runs from 227 balls for India B on Day 1 of the Duleep Trophy 2024 match against India A at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Musheer Khan, who is the younger brother of Indian Test cricketer Sarfaraz Khan, scored an unbeaten century for India B on Thursday (September 5) in his maiden Duleep Trophy match against India A, which is currently underway at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The 19-year-old right-handed batter came out to bat at No. 3 for the Abhimanyu Easwaran-led side and remained unbeaten on 105 runs from 227 balls at the end of the day’s play. He helped India B bounce back from 94 for 7 to post a total of 202 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 79 overs on Day 1.

Musheer has added 108 runs so far for the eighth wicket with Navdeep Saini, who is batting on 29 runs from 74 balls. Musheer, who first made headlines for his super batting show in the U-19 World Cup for India earlier this year, crossed the 100-run mark with a single on the last ball of the 74th over, which was bowled by Kuldeep Yadav.

After Musheer joined an elite list of batters who have managed to score a century in the first innings of their maiden Duleep Trophy match, India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav took to Instragam to share a story in which he praised Musheer’s knock.

The right-handed batter, who missed the first round matches of Duleep Trophy 2024 due to an injury, shared a picture of Musheer celebrating his century with a note that read, “What a Knock my boy. Duty k baad roz practice, jitna duty utna practice. @sarfarazkhan97 happy elder brother.”

Here’s a look at Suryakumar Yadav’s post for Musheer Khan:

While Musheer made headlines for his superb batting display on the first day of the India A-India B match, his brother Sarfaraz failed to fire for the Abhimanyu Easwaran-led side and was dismissed for 9 runs from 35 balls. The right-handed batter, who made his Test debut for India against England in Rajkot earlier this year, was sent back to the pavilion by Avesh Khan, who trapped him in front of the wickets.

Apart from Sarfaraz, Indian Test players Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, and Washington Sundar also failed to fire and scored 30, 7, and 0 runs, respectively.
