Animated celebration following a wicket is not an uncommon scene on the cricket field. Many legendary bowlers are often identified by their wicket celebration style. However, these celebrations can sometimes go overboard, resulting in a heated situation.

One such incident recently unfolded during a domestic match in Pakistan where things got violent after a batter’s dismissal.

In a now-viral video, a bowler can be seen celebrating the wicket, quite jubilantly, walking into the face of the dismissed batter. The action, as expected, did not go down well with the batter.

Irked by the over-the-top celebration, the batter, walking off the field after his dismissal, returned to confront the bowler.

The situation escalated dramatically as the batter and the bowler engaged in a fistfight.

The match umpires attempted to intervene in a bid to separate the players and pacify the situation.

The umpires’ mediation, however, hardly mattered as punches flew from both sides.

Talking about Pakistan cricket, the team recently conceded a 2-0 Test series defeat at the hands of Bangladesh. Pakistan had lost the Test series opener by 10 wickets. It marked Bangladesh’s maiden Test victory against Pakistan.

The scene did not change much in the second and final Test of the tour. Bangladesh had claimed a six-wicket victory in the second fixture in Rawalpindi. With this, Bangladesh succeeded in achieving their first Test series victory against Pakistan.

The Pakistan cricket team will next return to action with a three-match Test series against England. The opening Test between Pakistan and England will start from October 7 in Multan.
