The second Test of the ongoing two-match series between Pakistan and Bangladesh is currently underway at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. On the fourth day of the second and final red-ball match, the hosts could only manage to score 172 runs in the second innings and set up a target of 185 runs for Bangladesh to chase down in the fourth innings and win the second match in a row.
During the fourth day’s play, a hilarious incident took place during Pakistan’s batting, which left everyone in splits. Star Pakistani spinner Abrar Ahmed, who came out to bat at No. 10, was seen rushing to the crease to avoid a ‘timed out’ dismissal. The video of Abrar running to the crease in a hurry and Shakib Al Hasan seen laughing at the situation is now going viral on the internet.

Shakib, who is arguably the greatest Bangladeshi cricketer of all time, famously timed out Sri Lankan all-rounder Angelo Matthews during the ODI World Cup match played in Delhi last year. He was the first player in the 146-year history of international cricket to be dismissed for exceeding the two-minute limit to take a strike upon arriving at the crease.
Pakistan in deep trouble
Pakistan, which suffered a shocking defeat by 10 wickets in the first Test played in Rawalpindi last month, is now on the cusp of losing second match in a row against Bangladesh. The Shan Masood-led side, which managed to take a 12-run lead in the first innings after dismissing Bangladesh for 262 runs, failed to score big runs in the second innings and take an upper hand in the match.
All-rounder Salman Agha top-scored for Pakistan in the second innings by remaining unbeaten on 47 runs from 71 balls, and wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan amassed a total of 43 runs. Former captain Babar Azam, who is going through a lean patch these days, failed to fire once again and was sent back to the pavilion for just 11 runs by Nahid Rana in the morning session of the fourth day’s play. The 29-year-old Babar has now not managed to cross the 50-run mark in his last 16 Test innings.
