Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings produced an Indian Premier League (IPL) tie for the ages on Friday, April 26. The two teams locked horns in a thrilling high-scoring fixture at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

While the game produced many terrific moments as the two teams displayed incredible mentality, talent, and grit with their batting, the reaction of AbRam Khan, the youngest son of KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan, during the fall of one of the wickets went viral.

The dismissal of KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer, who made a quickfire 28 runs off 10 balls, including three sixes, evoked emotions of utter distraught and disappointment in AbRam, with the video being captured by the broadcasters.

In match number 42 of the 2024 edition of the IPL, Punjab Kings visited the Eden Gardens to take on an in-form Kolkata Knight Riders. After winning the toss, the stand-in PBKS skipper put KKR in to bat first. That didn’t have any sort of negative impact on the hosts, though, as openers Phil Salt and Sunil Narine went about their business the way they have been doing all season. The duo registered an opening partnership of 138. Both Salt and Narine had brought up their individual half-centuries and were looking dangerous in the middle.

Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer ensured that he produced a blistering cameo at the fag end of the innings. Iyer smacked three sixes off the last four balls of Sam Curran’s final over to help KKR edge closer towards the 250-run mark. He was eventually dismissed for 28 runs off 10 balls as KKR posted 261 runs on the board. Given the fact that the Punjab Kings’ top order had failed to deliver in the first eight games and that never in the history of the T20 format had such a huge target been chased down, it seemed like KKR were running towards their sixth win of the season.

Punjab Kings, during the run chase, came up with an epic performance. Jonny Bairstow scored an unbeaten 108 off 48 balls, to help PBKS create history and chase down 262 in just 18.4 overs and win the game by eight wickets.
