IPL 2024: Chennai Super Kings' Shivam Registers Two Consecutive Golden Ducks vs Punjab Kings
Shivam Dube has not been in the best of forms as he has been dismissed for consecutive golden ducks against Punjab Kings in IPL 2024.

Chennai Super Kings’ Shivam Dube has had an uneventful pair of innings against Punjab Kings as he was once again dismissed on a golden duck for the second time in a row in the Indian Premier League at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.

It was a disastrous start yet again for CSK’s star middle-order batter who has not been able to replicate the form that he had through the start of the 2024 season of the IPL.

Following the announcement of India’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 where the left-hander was selected, he has not been able to continue with the form he has been in so far.

The five-time champions had gone up against PBKS earlier at Chepauk in their previous fixture as well where he was dismissed by the left-arm orthodox bowler, Harpreet Brar with a leg-before wicket.

On Sunday, in the reverse fixture at Punjab’s new home in Dharamsala, he was dismissed by the other spinner, Rahul Chahar where the batter for the edge carried to the keeper to make it a pair of golden ducks.

The momentum is certainly not with the defending champions as they have struggled to find consistency but remain in the race for the playoffs with five wins and as many losses to make it 10 points so far.

The side had a fine start to the season but were struggling to get the wins away from home. But now they have also struggled to keep up at their home ground as well having lost two games out of the five played at home to the Lucknow Super Giants and PBKS.

Injuries and departures have also affected the side deeply. Their highest wicket-taker of the season, Mustafizur Rahman has left the squad to return to national duties while the Sri Lankan pacer, Matheesha Pathirana was looking to make a return to the side, but has now left to head back home to nurse a hamstring injury.

With the injuries and departures to the bowling unit, Dube’s form with the bat will be a massive worry to the side as they aim to go for the title once again.
