Excitement for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) game between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings, scheduled to be played on Saturday, May 18, has been plenty. This match is a virtual knockout for both teams as per the current scenario of the IPL 2024 league standings. The situation, however, is a bit more tricky for RCB. Besides winning, the Bengaluru-based franchise will need to keep track of the net run rate while a victory will be enough for CSK to earn qualification for the playoffs. The match will be played at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium and the home fans will want Virat Kohli to step up this time to spearhead the RCB batting attack.
Ahead of the blockbuster fixture, the RCB focused on the stats of Virat Kohli in this IPL season sharing a post on Instagram. The talismanic India batter has exceptional records against CSK as well. Kohli has played more than 30 matches against the five-time champions since the inaugural 2008 IPL. He is the only batter to aggregate more than 1,000 runs in this Southern rivalry.

In the current squad of CSK, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar are the only bowlers to have picked the wicket of Kohli in the IPL. Virat Kohli is the current Orange Cap holder of this IPL. He has racked up a total of 661 runs in 13 appearances so far in the tournament.
