After four long years, Afghanistan will return to Greater Noida’s Shahid Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex to play their home matches. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given the nod to Afghanistan to host Bangladesh for three ODIs and as many T20Is in the month of July-August in the National Capital Region.
As reported by The Times of India, the Bangladesh Cricket Team will arrive in Greater Noida on July 22 and will train for a couple of days before getting into the ODI series. It has been learned that the ODI series will begin July 25 while the T20Is will be played from August 2-6, with Bangladesh leaving India on August 7.
The report further stated that the Indian cricket board has allotted Afghanistan two home venues in Greater Noida and Kanpur.
Back in 2015, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) and the BCCI signed a Memorandum of Understanding to use Indian venues for their home games. Thereafter, Afghanistan played their home matches in Dehradun, the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow and Greater Noida.
