In Tamil Nadu’s Tirunelveli, Activist’s Witty Poster To Curb Stray Dog Menace Viral

There are many activists in India who raise their voice against the wrongdoings in society. Many of them have even been able to make political careers by supporting causes and fighting for them. These activists try to provide relief to the common people from problems, by taking a stand for them. Recently, a social activist from Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu has been in the news because he has put out humorous posters against the terror of dogs in an area. The name of the activist is Siraj, and he has been in the limelight for using a unique way to educate people about dog bites.

According to reports, Siraj has been fighting against issues like sewage and other essential needs of the public. Recently, he was in the news for condemning the corporation for not controlling dog nuisance in the 36th ward of the city. He protested against the local corporation by sharing posters in the area with humorous slogans.

In the poster, it was written, “Members of the love group that is messing up the 36th Ward.” Below the heading was a row of photos of dogs, along with their local names, age, temperament, and the number of people bitten by the dogs. He funnily mentioned the dogs with various names such as Punnya Murthy, Kalathur Dakshina Murthy, Vavluvakudi Sundaramurthy and Melakudi Ramamurthy. The whole incident has gone quite viral on social media, and people have appreciated him for explaining the issue in a unique way.

Apart from that, he also mentioned the qualities of the dogs, like fighting, biting, chasing only men, acting as the leader of a group, and sneaking and chasing away. Siraj added that although many people have supported him and appreciated him for his unique way, there are some people who are criticising him as well.

Siraj, in an interaction with Local 18, added that his intention was never to blame the corporation or the dog lovers. He just wanted to create awareness among people in a humorous way, so that more people could understand and protect themselves. In the video, he can be seen explaining that the area has already lost the life of a journalist because of a dog. He doesn’t want such cases to happen again and wants to protect people from getting bitten by dogs.
