Anand Vihar is one of the busy and huge transit hubs in Delhi from where lakhs of people travel to different cities daily by trains or buses. Here the Regional Rapid Transit System will be connected to Delhi Metro, railway station and interstate bus station. The Delhi section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor is 9km long out of which 4 km is elevated and 5 km is underground.

As per reports in TOI, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) official shared, “The work on the elevated bridge of Anand Vihar to Sahibabad RRTS has been completed and now tracks are being laid on it. The trial run of the Namo Bharat train on the Anand Vihar to Sahibabad route will start in November.”

Further, the officials informed that the construction on Sarai Kale Khan, New Ashok Nagar and Anand Vihar RRTS in the 9 km long section is near its completion. After this, yard work at the fourth station, Jangpura will be completed. As per reports, Anand Vihar RRTS Station will be the only underground RRTS station. This has been made to ensure easy movement of passengers and will also be convenient.

The station will have pick-up and drop-off points for vehicles. It is connected to Chaudhary Charan Singh Marg via 3 bridges over the Ghazipur drainage. The 10-metre-wide bridge will serve as the vehicle entry point where private vehicles and taxis will be allowed to enter and drop off passengers at the station gate. The 13-metre-wide left bridge will be the exit point for the vehicle to leave the premises and turn to the main road. Meanwhile, the 5-metre wide mid-bridge will be for pedestrian movements inside the premises of the Anand Vihar Station.
