Mumbai: The BSE Sensex rose on Thursday, recovering from two sessions of falls as Power Grid Corp and other blue chips recovered from recent losses, while Dr Reddy's gained after a rival received an import ban for a key drug from the US regulator.
Dr Reddy's Laboratories Ltd (REDY.NS) ended 1.2 per cent higher while Power Grid Corp of India Ltd (PGRD.NS) which was among the leading decliners on Wednesday rose 2.77 per cent.
The benchmark BSE Sensex gained 0.56 per cent, while the broader Nifty ended higher 0.57 per cent.
