The film, which opened at the box office with Rs 22.50 crore, saw a gradual jump in its collection compared to its release day sales. Fighter performed well on its first 3 days at the box office and earned an estimated Rs 89.50 Cr India net. It earned around Rs 28.50 Cr India net on its fourth day for all languages (early estimates). It brings the net collection in India to Rs 118 crore, according to Sacnilk.com.

Meanwhile, amid the success of the movie, director Siddharth Anand has opened up about his plans for its sequel. During a chat with Pinkvilla. “Yeah, that audience will decide. Abhi dekhte hain abhi 3 hi din hue hain (We’ll see. It’s been just three days since the film release). I think audience ka pyaar (love) will decide what we will do, and we would love to make Fighter 2 a larger story. We have some great ideas that we want to put it down to”.
