Animal 2 BIG Update: Ranbir Kapoor To Begin Shoot In 2025, Basic Structure of Script Ready
Animal Park will focus on Ranvijay's (Ranbir Kapoor's character) clash with his lookalike.

After the massive box office success of Animal, everyone is eagerly waiting for the sequel of the movie, Animal Park. It has now been revealed that while the basic structure of the script for Animal 2 is ready, Sandeep Reddy Vanga will start to closely work with the writers in the second half of this year. Reportedly, Ranbir Kapoor will also begin shooting for the film in 2025 i.e. after finishing the shoot schedule for Nitish Tiwari’s Ramayana.

If a report by Mid Day is to be believed, Animal Park will focus on Ranvijay’s (Ranbir Kapoor’s character) clash with his lookalike and relationship with his wife and son. “Animal Park’s basic structure was ready right when Animal [2023] was written. It was meant to be a multi-film outing. The second part will focus on Ranbir’s character Ranvijay and his lookalike. The domestic feud between the protagonist and his wife Geetanjali will be taken forward, as will his relationship with his son,” a source close to the movie said.

“The idea is that while Sandeep shoots Spirit, he will take monthly updates on the script primarily being written by Pranay Vanga. He will actively work with the writers only in the second half of 2024,” the insider added.

Released on December 1, 2023, Animal revolves around a man and his toxic relationship with his father. The film showed Vijay (played by Ranbir) as an anti-hero who would go to any lengths to protect his father, including gunning down 200 people with a machine gun. However, despite his efforts, he struggled to get a seal of approval from his emotionally unavailable father (played by Anil Kapoor). The film ended with a glimpse of Ranbir Kapoor’s character’s lookalike and hinted that the sequel will focus on the clash between the two.

Recently, Ranbir Kapoor also talked about Animal Park when he told stand-up comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi for Netflix India, “Regarding Animal Park, he (Vanga) has one or two scenes ready, which he narrated to me, and they are very exciting. Now, because of the success of part one, he has the confidence and courage to go even darker, deeper and more complex. He can do anything.”
