Alia Bhatt has taken a big step to support a Mumbai-based NGO. The actress will soon be hosting her first Hope Gala in London. Reportedly, the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actress will host the event on March 28 in partnership with the Mandarin Oriental hotel group at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London.
With this, Alia will be supporting Salaam Bombay charity, which is focused on engaging Mumbai’s most vulnerable children through in-school programmes (leadership and advocacy) and after-school academies (skill building) that help build their confidence, and self-esteem and commit them to stay in school.
Alia Bhatt’s Upcoming Projects
Alia Bhatt will soon be seen in Jigra with Vedang Raina, the shooting of which was recently wrapped up. Alia is not just playing the lead in the film but is also producing it. Previously, in an interview with Film Companion, Alia opened up about venturing into production and shared that it is ‘exciting and overwhelming’ at the same time.
“I believe stories are everywhere, and stories are everything! I turned producer with Eternal Sunshine to tell some of these stories, ones that evoke emotions and leave an impact. Our first production, Darlings, got so much love that it was exciting and overwhelming at the same time,” she said.
“Just a little over a year later, we are ready to launch our second production – Jigra, a beautiful story of courage, passion and determination. I hope to consistently support compelling narratives that are authentic, and enduringly timeless and work with brilliant creative minds to bring them alive,” the 31-year-old actress added.
Besides Jigra, Alia will soon also be seen in Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zara with Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif. However, its shooting has not started yet. No detail regarding its release is also known as of now.
