SEMA showcases how to take vehicles from the ordinary to the extraordinary with modifying them beyond imagination.

The 2016 edition of the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) show, the highly-anticipated automotive trade and speciality products event, open its doors on November 1 in Las Vegas, and once again, it will showcase how to take vehicles from the ordinary to the extraordinary.

ARK Road Racer Elantra Concept

In another collaboration with Hyundai, ARK Performance went through its parts bin to come up with a stylish performance take on the new Elantra sedan which would look and feel right at home on the race track. Among the modifications is the addition of an ARK turbocharger (and the required hardware upgrades) to the Elantra's 147-hp 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, upgraded suspension bits, brakes and wheels, and cosmetic upgrades inside and out.

Dodge Challenger SRT 392

Many of the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) concepts shown at SEMA are done up by the company's aftermarket division Mopar, and some end up in FCA future production plans. That's what's expected for the Dodge Challenger SRT 392, the pony car coupe powered by the 6.4-liter SRT HEMI V-8 that puts out 485 hp in stock trim. The exterior package is typically Mopar, and the car looks like it will have the engine popping up through the hood, so passers-by can see it shake.

Mazda MX-5 Concepts

Mazda North America is bringing two different versions of its MX-5 roadster. The MX-5 Speedster is an update on the windshield-less car shown off at last year's show, with the improvements mainly in weight reclamation (the new speedster is about 159 kg lighter than the stock MX-5). The MX-5 RF Kuro is a cosmetic modification of the new RF (retractable fastback) version of the roadster, with new wheels, tires and body add-ons.

Chevrolet Silverado HD Carhartt

Chevy Trucks pride themselves on their workhorse abilities, so what better partner than global premium workwear maker Carhartt to dress up a Chevrolet Silverado HD 4-door crew cab full-size pickup? The interior and the pickup bed tonneau cover are done up in the rugged fabric for which Carhartt is renowned. And under the hood is the 445-hp, 1,234-Nm Duramax 6.6-liter turbodiesel V-8 for which "Chevy Tough" is famous.

The SEMA Show will take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center from November 1-4, 2016.
