New Delhi: One of the exhibitors at the upcoming Auto Expo 2016, Tata Motors seems to have run into trouble, thanks to the name of its new hatchback- Tata Zica- which many argue is similar to the deadly mosquito-borne Zika virus.

The Zika virus is rapidly spreading across South America and has already affected people in over 20 countries. The virus can lead to birth defects, including microcephaly or abnormally small heads in babies.

Little did Tata Motors know that its budget hatchback- named by merging the words 'Zippy' and 'Car' could run into trouble at the wrong time. According to reports, the company is now considering a new name for the entry-level hatchback.

The Tata Zica will be offered with two 3-cylinder engines to choose from – a 1.2- Revotron petrol and a 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel. The petrol motor makes 85PS at 6,000rpm and 114Nm of peak torque from 3,500rpm.

Tata Motors will be pricing the Zica hatchback at a very competitive rate. Expect prices to start from around Rs 3.5 lakh for this entry level hatchback.
