The Bengaluru-based electric scooter start-up River has reopened bookings for the Indie, its flagship model.
Potential customers can reserve the Indie by paying Rs 2,500 online. Furthermore, an on-site booking option is available at the recently opened showroom in Bengaluru, as reported by Autocar.
The Indie’s large storage capacity is one of its standout qualities. With 43 litres tucked under the seat and an additional 12 litres in the glove compartment, it offers an incredible 55 litres of space to store your belongings.

The River Indie was introduced in February 2023, and its first few units left the Hoskote manufacturing plant in August of the same year. For the first batch of Indie scooters, bookings opened one month later, and by the end of the month, there were over 200 orders. Moreover, the first shipment of scooters was made to Bengaluru-based clients in October 2023.
The company – River which was founded in 2021, raised new money last year with major contributions from numerous other investors, led by the Al Futtaim Group.

River Indie: Features, Design And Price
The Indie has a 6.7kW motor that accelerates from 0 to 40kph in 3.9 seconds and tops out at 90kph. The claimed range is 120km, with multiple ride modes available for the rider to choose from. An 800-watt portable charger will be available, as well as an upcoming fast charger.
A 43-litre under-seat storage space, a 12-litre glovebox, and optional accessories such as hard panniers and a top box are among the features listed. The plush suspension and 14-inch wheels on both sides are well-suited to Indian roads.
The Indie is now priced at Rs 1.38 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), which is Rs 13,000 more than when it was first launched. Its competitors include the Ather 450S, TVS iQube S, and Bajaj Chetak Premium.
