Noida International Airport (NIA) has joined hands with Statiq, India’s leading electric vehicle (EV) charging network, to set up a powerful EV charging infrastructure.
This partnership is aimed at reducing emissions and supporting the airport’s sustainability goals.
Statiq will build, operate, and maintain the airside charging network, ensuring 24/7 availability. This network will serve airport vehicles and all concessionaires, allowing the deployment of electric ground support equipment (GSE) and other electric vehicles across the airport.
In the first phase, Statiq plans to install 7.4 kW AC chargers for smaller vehicles, along with 120 kW and 240 kW chargers for rapid charging.
Speaking on the collaboration, Mr. Nicolas Schenk, Chief Development Officer at NIA, said, “With Statiq’s expertise, we will ensure 24/7 availability of fast EV charging infrastructure for all airside operations, in line with our sustainable design and operations principles.”
Mr. Raghav Arora, Founder & CTO of Statiq, added, “Our progressive and innovatory charging solutions will ensure seamless, efficient, and sustainable mobility, furthering our shared commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship.”
This partnership is a major step towards promoting cleaner transportation in India’s aviation sector. Noida International Airport, blending Indian hospitality with Swiss technology, is designed to provide a modern, user-friendly experience.
The first phase will have the capacity to handle 12 million passengers annually, with the airport set to serve up to 70 million passengers after all four phases are complete.
