New Delhi: German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz launched two models E-Class Cabriolet and CLS 250 CDI Coupe with diesel engine priced at Rs 78.50 lakh and Rs 76.50 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
"This is our second and third launch in this month. We are intensifying our product offensive in the Indian market by launching cars from our global portfolio which are relevant here," Mercedes-Benz Managing Director & CEO Eberhard Kern told PTI.
The company said that it would launch 15 new models and add 15 more showrooms in 2015.
"After focusing on the first week of the year on new generation cars CLA and new B Class and C Class, we are now having closer look on performance and 'dream car' segment by having a balanced portfolio," he added.
Mercedes-Benz had launched CLS-Class Coupe petrol version in 2011.
On Tuesday, the company also introduced a cloud-based Mercedes-Benz Apps, which would provide access to internet, weather, audio news, Facebook and Mercedes-Benz Radio. The app is offered in CLS and would come in all future cars, Kern added.
On sales growth in India, he said: "The year started very well and we see a clear double-digit growth."
Kern added that the company is expanding its sales network and would focus on East and North East regions also.
"We just inaugurated in Jamshedpur few weeks back, we are in Kolkata and Bhubaneswar and there is more to come... The North East is also on our focus but it's too early to say anything on that," he said.
Mercedes-Benz has a network of 71 dealers in 39 cities and is planning to take the count to over 80.
