Ex-Karnataka CM KS Eshwarappa Sparks Row On Mosques, Says 'Vacate Them Or Else…'
Former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP leader KS Eshwarappa asked Muslims vacate the mosques allegedly constructed on demolished temple lands.

KS Eshwarappa, former Karnataka Chief Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, on Sunday again warned the Muslims of dire consequences if they did not vacate the mosques allegedly constructed on demolished temple lands.

“Two more places, including Mathura, are in consideration. Once the court verdict is delivered, we will proceed with the construction of the temples. There should be no doubt about that,” Eshwarappa said while addressing a Hindu workers’ convention in Belagavi.

“It would be good if you (Muslims) voluntarily vacate the mosques. Otherwise, the repercussions, including how many will be killed and what all would happen, we don’t know,” the former Chief Minister added.

Eshwarappa’s Past Remarks

Notably, Eshwarappa is not new to such communal remarks. Earlier in June last year as well, the BJP leader warned Muslims and said that mosques believed to be built on top of temples would be demolished and temples will be rebuilt on their place.

“The court is already providing a survey report about Kashi Vishwanath temple, similar to what we witnessed in Ayodhya. We will also witness the same in Kashi Vishwanath and Mathura Krishna temple,” Eshwarappa said.

“All the temples that were demolished by the Mughals and where mosques were built will be demolished in due time, and temples will be built on their place. We do not intend to destroy new mosques; only those constructed on temple sites will be razed,” he added.

AIUDF Chief Asks Assam Muslims To Stay At Home

Escalating tensions in the community, the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal asked the members of the Muslim community in Assam to avoid travelling by trains from January 20 to January 25 to avoid “any untoward incident”. He also said that the BJP is the biggest enemy of the Muslims in the country.

The AIUDF chief’s statement came ahead of the inauguration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22, 2024.
