Google Maps Can Now Help You With Weather And Air Quality In Your Area: Here's How
Google Maps on Android now includes a small rectangular box in the top left of the screen, below the search bar. Here are all the details.

Sometimes, it’s truly bizarre to see some of Google’s iOS apps being more feature-rich than their Android counterparts, although this is seldom the case. One such feature is the availability of weather data right within the Google Maps app on iOS.

However, Google has now brought this feature to the Android app as well. Google Maps app on Android now includes a small rectangular box in the top left of the screen, below the search bar, as first spotted by 9to5Google. The said box contains important information, including the temperature and the Air Quality Index in the area, and even indicates whether rain, snow, and more are expected.

The report adds that when you tap on this box, it expands to reveal even more weather-centric information about a place. Moreover, it will keep changing as you move across the map.

This has been a staple for the Google Maps iOS app, and it’s good to see it finally making its way to Android as well. This feature can come in handy when you want to see the weather conditions without leaving the Google Maps app, especially when traveling.

The update on Android has already started rolling out to users, and the app version 11.113.x brings even wider availability. So, update your Google Maps app, and if it still doesn’t show up, force close it or wait until it shows up.

What's your reaction?
