CBSE has also instructed schools to update the status of CWSN candidates on the Pariksha Sangam portal and parikshasangam.cbse.gov.in website

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) recently released a notice sharing details about the online portal for availing exemptions or facilities by students, particularly candidates with Special Needs (CWSN) in Board Exams 2024. As per the notice, CBSE opened the portal for CWSN to avail facilities and exemptions during the Class 10 as well as Class 12 Board exam 2024 on January 19. The board has also instructed schools to update the status of CWSN candidates on the Pariksha Sangam portal and parikshasangam.cbse.gov.in website.

The CBSE schools will be able to upload documents and fill in all the details of the appearing candidates on the official website/portal from January 19 to January 24, 2024. Schools will need to use their login ID and password to access the Pariksha Sangam portal. On the screen will be a list of the CWSN students enrolled in their school along with the facilities that each student category is allowed to use based on their disability.

“The schools will log-in into the portal using their Login ID and password wherein they will be shown the list of their CwSN students and the facilities permissible to each category of students as per their disability,” read the notice. If students choose to use any of the facilities, they must indicate their preference so that the centre superintendent is notified and can make the appropriate arrangements, the notice further adds. In addition, the details about the facilities will be available on the admit card itself.

In 2023, a portal for CWSN students was launched by the CBSE Board. The decision was made in response to annual requests from CWSN students to the board for accommodations to be provided while the exam was being administered.

Earlier, the CBSE had requested that all schools update the status of CWSN students via the Pariksha Sangam portal. According to the board, CWSN students approach the Board every year before the examination and request that facilities/exemptions be provided as per the Board’s rules during the examination. The CBSE has further urged the CWSN students who wish to take advantage of the current exemptions to make the necessary requests through their respective schools.

On January 4, CBSE released the timetable for the upcoming board examinations 2024 for both Classes 10 and 12. As per the official schedule, the exams for Classes 10 and 12 will be held between February 15 and April 2, 2024.
